On January 23-24, 2024, German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his delegation made a state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong. The visit was President Steinmeier's first overseas trip in 2024 and the first high-level delegation exchange between the two countries in the year, a pivotal year towards the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2025.

As part of the President's two-day state visit to Vietnam, President Steinmeier and his delegation visited HCMC Deutsches Haus on January 24, symbolizing the strategic partnership and friendship between Germany and Vietnam. Techtronic Industries’ Chairman, Horst Pudwill and Vice Chairman, Stephan Pudwill, had the honor to meet President Steinmeier and HCMC Chairman of People’s Committee, Phan Van Mai alongside with other German business leaders during this visit.

On the same day, Mr. Horst Pudwill, as a representative of the leading German investors, participated in the Business Roundtable organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) and the German Business Association (GBA). The roundtable provided an opportunity for insightful dialogues with the German President, his delegation, officials from Vietnam, and other German business representatives.

TTI is currently a member of the GBA. According to the GBA, the economic ties between Germany and Vietnam have significantly strengthened in recent years. The state visit of President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Vietnam is expected to further foster bilateral cooperation and create new opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.
