Techtronic Industries joined hands for the development of Ho Chi Minh City Young Talent

Ten young talents in Education, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts, and Sports in Ho Chi Minh City have received scholarship from Techtronic Industries (TTI) at the Commendations and Sponsorship Ceremony for young talents of HCMC 2023 on March 23. This is a testament to TTI’s commitment to talent development and contributing to the City’s efforts in building and developing its future talent pool.

Join hands with HCMC to nurture and support young talents

On the afternoon of March 23, the HCMC Young Talent Sponsorship Fund, in partnership with Techtronic Industries, organized the Commendations and Award Sponsorship Ceremony for 10 young talents of Ho Chi Minh City. This event aims to recognize outstanding individuals and offer financial assistance, each worth VND 20 million, to help cover costs related to their education, research, training, and international competitions. Presented at the ceremony included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Scientific and Technical Associations; Comrade Tran Thu Ha - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union; Mr. Le Quoc Cuong - Deputy Head of Saigon Hi-Tech Part Management Board, and representatives from TTI Vietnam Mr. Phan Thong, Vice President of Shared Facility Management, Mr. Bang Truong, Senior Development Director; along with relevant departments, organizations, young talent’s schools.

The ten selected young talents to be honored this year are individuals who have made noteworthy contributions to society and the community, and achieved outstanding accomplishments in city-level, national, and international competitions in fields including Education, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts, and Sports. The funding of VND 150 million is provided by TTI as part of the Group’s commitment to supporting young talents on the journey to pursue their passions and contribute to the city and country as a whole. 

Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union - Comrade Tran Thu Ha, said at the ceremony: “I feel proud and admire the achievements our young talents have attained. The young talent groups in Education, Science, & Technology have done several research works published in recognized international scientific journals, achieving commendable results in international competitions. These are intense and stressful competitions, aiming to bring back to Vietnam prestigious medals in the international arena. Furthermore, it also represents the elevation of the fundamental principles of spirituality. It helps compose beautiful songs that enhance the vibrant life of the young talent group in Culture and Arts.”

The list of young talents supported in this round includes:

  1. Le Nam Long – Student of Class 7A3, Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School.
  2. Do Thi Thanh Binh – Student of Le Ngoc Han Primary School.
  3. Le Minh Duc – Student of Le Hong Phong Specialized High School.
  4. Vo Khac Trieu – Student of HCMC University of Science, Vietnam National University.
  5. Vu Quoc Lam – Student of HCMC University of Science, Vietnam National University.
  6. Nguyen Quoc Trung – Student of HCMC University of Science, Vietnam National University.
  7. Doan Chau Thanh Vinh – Research student of HCMC University of Science, Vietnam National University.
  8. Ha Quy Tan – Master's student of HCMC University of Technology, Vietnam National University.
  9. Dang Gia Thinh – VinSchool and HCMC Conservatory of Music.
  10. Vu Thi Anh Thu – Badminton athlete at Phu Tho Sports Arena.

Young talents shared their inspirational stories

The HCMC Young Talent Sponsorship Fund was established in 1993 by Ho Chi Minh City People Committee to combine social resources to support and nurture young talents. With hundreds of young talents recognized and supported over the past 31 years, the HCMC Young Talent Sponsorship Fund has found, gathered, cultivated, and exhibited young talents contributing to the City and the country. In joining the City Young Talent Sponsorship Fund, TTI Group is honored to stand alongside the City in nurturing young talents, encouraging and inspiring those who are dedicated to continuous learning, scientific research, and contributing to the overall human resources development of the City.

Contributing to community development where TTI operates

Embarking on nurturing the local talents, in 2023, TTI collaborated with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Vietnam) in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to offer scholarships to female students in the field of engineering, contributing to building a community of talented female in the STEM fields. In addition, TTI collaborated with German Business Associations and other members of the German Business community to support young local talents in turning their entrepreneurial business ideas into reality at the GBA Business Challenge - Season IV. 

TTI accompanied the German Business Association in sponsoring the "GBA Business Challenge 2023" to support young talents

As a result of TTI’s steadfast commitment to fostering a sustainable working environment and making positive impact to local community, TTI are honored to receive the "Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2023" award by HR Asia, and was recognized as one of the outstanding businesses in implementing ESG-related initiatives at the "AmCham Vietnam ESG Impact Showcase" in 2023 organized by the AmCham Vietnam.

TTI's commitment to the community is vividly demonstrated through meaningful projects. Particularly notable is the partnership with Habitat for Humanity since 2020. TTI has actively supported housing construction, sanitation & clean water facilities, and disaster relief for people in various localities in Vietnam, such as Tien Giang, Kien Giang, and Thai Nguyen provinces. Additionally, in response to the call from the Management Board and Trade Union of industrial and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh City, TTI employees, together with 2,300 union members, workers, business owners, and trade union officials, participated in a solidarity walk and contributed to the " Support Fund for City Workers".
