Statement relating to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong) (“PDPO”)
This is a statement to inform you of your rights under the PDPO.
For the purpose of this statement:
- “TTI Group Entity” means Techtronic Industries Company Limited or any other person or entity directly, or indirectly through one or more intermediaries, controlling, controlled by, or under common control of Techtronic Industries Company Limited; and
- “we”, “our”, “us” or “Company” means Techtronic Industries Company Limited.
This statement shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions of this statement, the English version shall prevail.
We would like to inform you of the following:
1. OVERVIEW
It is our policy to comply with the PDPO. This statement applies to our collection of your personal data when you subscribe to receive our investor related information on our website or register for our investor related event. It sets out how your personal data collected by us will be used following collection, to whom it will be transferred and who is responsible for handling your data access or correction requests.
It is voluntary for you to provide the personal data requested by us. However, failure to provide personal data marked with an asterisk (*) in the form may result in the Company being unable to process or delay the processing of your subscription.
Please read this statement carefully before you provide any personal data to us.
2. COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will collect personal data you provide in the form, including your name, company name and email address.
3. USE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
Personal data provided to us may be used and retained by us for:
- sending you alerts on our investor relations activities;
- sending you our press releases and announcements;
- sending you our product highlights and corporate news;
- processing your registration for our investor related events, including financial result announcements;
- recording attendance of our investor related events; and
- satisfying our legal obligations.
These uses may amount to direct marketing under the PDPO, in which case we will obtain the required consent from you before sending you the direct marketing materials. Please refer to the section “4. DIRECT MARKETING” below for more details.
We will obtain your consent before using your personal data for other purposes.

Parties and their representatives in a transaction |
In the event the Company and/or any of the TTI Group Entities is involved in a merger, acquisition or due diligence exercise, your personal data may be transferred to a relevant outside party to the extent such data is reasonably required to decide on matters relating to the acquisition or merger. Examples of relevant outside party include intermediate parties and their financial advisors, bankers and lawyers. |

Your personal data may be transferred to government departments, regulatory bodies and courts, to the extent permitted or required by applicable laws, rules, regulations, codes of practice or guidelines or pursuant to a court order. |
We strive to ensure that your personal data to be transferred to third parties is adequate but not excessive in relation to that purpose.
4. DIRECT MARKETING
We intend to use your personal data for direct marketing and will abide by the laws concerning direct marketing in Part 6A Division 3 of the PDPO.
We intend to use the personal data set out in section 2 of this statement to send you direct marketing materials about, without limitation, alerts on our investor relations activities, press releases, announcements, product highlights and corporate news.
In addition, we may provide the personal data set out in section 2 of this statement to other TTI Group Entities to send you direct marketing materials about, without limitation, updates on their activities, press releases, announcements, product highlights and corporate news. Our provision of your personal data will not be for gain.
The direct marketing communications to you will generally be through electronic means (e-mail, SMS and/or other media whether now known or available in the future) and/or by direct mail.
We may not use your personal data for direct marketing or provide your personal data to other TTI Group Entities for use in direct marketing unless we have received your consent.
You may opt out of receiving direct marketing communications from us at any time by sending your request to our Data Privacy Officer by post or email (please refer to the contact details at the end of this statement) or clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of our direct marketing emails. We will then stop any further direct marketing related emails from ourselves.
You may also at any time require us to cease to provide your personal data to any other person for use by that other person in direct marketing by sending your request to our Data Privacy Officer by post or email (please refer to the contact details at the end of this statement). We will comply with such request promptly and will notify in writing any person to whom the data has been so provided to cease to use the data in direct marketing.
The aforesaid requests can be made without charge.
Please note that you may continue to receive direct marketing communications for a short period after changing your preferences while we and/or other TTI Group Entities are updating our systems.
If we use your personal data in any direct marketing communications, you have the right to request that we provide you with the source of that personal data. There is no fee for requesting this information. We will provide you with the source of personal data unless it is impracticable or unreasonable to do so.
5. PROTECTION AND RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data you provide to us from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration and unauthorized disclosure or access.
We will also take all practicable steps to erase your personal data if that is no longer required for the purpose for which the data is used, unless erasure is prohibited by law or is not in the public interest.
6. ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will honour your rights to request access to, and correction of, the personal data you have provided to us.
Should you wish to (i) check whether we hold any of your personal data, (ii) access your personal data held by us or (iii) require us to correct any personal data which is inaccurate, please send your request to our Data Privacy Officer by post or email to the address provided at the end of this statement. Our processing of your request may be conditional upon your completion of a data access request form at our request, which requires you to provide information such as “type of data” and “period covered by data”.
